Why the National
Kidney Foundation
It didn't take us long to come to a decision. The impact of the organization we chose felt very close to home. In fact, close to me personally.
On March 16, 2021, I received the gift of life — a new kidney from none other than my beautiful wife, my hero, Diana. I had been in stage 5 renal failure for the last 15 months and on dialysis for the last eight.
Come to find out, a relatively nominal time considering the length of time others less fortunate have spent hooked up to a machine. An interesting sidebar is my vision of this business was hatched over the last year as I sat in a chair for 3½ hours, three days a week, while receiving dialysis.
I happened to be lucky enough to not only have a perfect match in my spouse, but a willing donor to boot! You see, I am in the minority — a part of the fortunate few who didn't have to spend years on dialysis before getting a new kidney, unlike many of my new friends I have been blessed to meet on my kidney journey.
So who did we select? As you might surmise by this point, we have chosen the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). If it weren't for the ongoing research, education, support, and advocacy for those suffering from chronic kidney disease — over 100,000 are awaiting a donor — we would be far less fortunate than we already are.
As a result, we are committed to giving back every day. We have agreed to donate a percentage of our annual revenue to NKF. So indirectly, you are giving back with us each year.
We hope you are as excited about our choice as we are. It is near and dear to our hearts. For without the National Kidney Foundation, I might not have the luxury of enjoying the simple things in life so many less fortunate still do not have.
